Trekk'n & Stoot'n - Weightlifting meet
Trekken & Stoten is a Olympic Weightlifting Competition for beginners and non-beginners. This event is open to everyone, also non-CFT Members. This day is all about fun and supporting each other. This is for you if you are looking to compete for the very first time or if you have expierence in competing and are looking to set new personal records.
You are NOT required to be a member of a weightlifting federation. You are NOT required to wear weightlifting shoes or a weightlifting suit. If you have one, please wear one as it looks fantastic. Weigh-in is optional but if you want to compete for the medals you are required to weigh-in.
We will follow the basic rules of Weightlifting:
- 3 attempts for the Snatch and 3 attempts for the Clean & Jerk
- any variation of the Snatch & Clean and Jerk are allowed
- no stopping on the pull
- no press out
- no dropping of the barbell
- must wait for the down signal before lowering the barbell back to the platform under control
- you get 30 seconds to lift the weight when the barbell is loaded and your name has been called (or you get 1 minutes to lift if you follow yourself)
The lifter should be informed of basic and general rules during training, the lifter needs to be aware of what to expect. One of the most common mistakes of first-time lifters is that they lower the barbell before the referee has given the down signal. They need to know that they won’t get the down signal until they are motionless and in control of the barbell. Contact us for any questions you might have.
After we have received your registration we will send you a google form where we ask you for your Name, Club, Starting total (snatch + Clean and jerk), Gender, T-Shirt size.
